What Is Heart Coherence?
The heart is what generates the rhythm or the pace being held within the body. It also produces the largest electromagnetic field of any organ in the body. This may be contrary to what some people believe in regards to the brain having the largest electromagnetic field in the body.
Science has now discovered that the heart actually has its own brain, with its own neurites, similar to those found in the brain. This new evidence confirms that the heart has a conscious intelligence of its own. It has also been found that the intelligence of the heart influences processes in the brain that control your nervous system, cognitive function, and emotions.
When coherence is achieved the various “parts” of the “whole” actually start to fit together in a more harmonious natural way, a clear relationship is now established between the “parts”. In this particular case the parts that are achieving the greatest level of coherence being the heart and the brain.

How The Coherence Of The Heart Can Affect Your Overall Health:
It has been found in scientific studies that the heart actually sends more information to the brain through the nervous system than the other way around. This signaling occurring from the heart to the brain actually has massive affects on brain functionality, mental clarity, and what we are experiencing emotionally as well.
It is important to understand that when the heart is functioning at the highest level of coherence you can activate your most optimal physiological functioning. This is why bringing our focus to the heart can greatly shift the rhythms of the heart, and greatly improve our brain function. This optimum state can also bring about what’s known as your “flow state” or “being in the zone” by athletes and peak performers.
Some Of The Things That You Will Experience When You Are In Coherence:
- You feel confident, focused, positive and calm.
- You have more energy and motivation.
- You can also use it when you need more coordination and speed in your reactions i.e when performing sports or performing complicated tasks.
- Negative emotions like fear, frustration, anxiety, irritation or anger can bring you out of coherence and drain you of energy. Coherence training can prevent them from escalating and getting out of control, preventing harm to your body.
How To Achieve Heart Coherence:
Coherence occurs when you focus your intention on your heart and breathe deeply, smoothly and rhythmically so that each inhalation and exhalation are equally spaced out in a perfect groove.
Breathing at a musical rhythm of 58.6 bpm that is also a calm relaxed heart beat rhythm, means you breath 7.8 breaths per minute exactly synchronizing to the Schumann Resonance at 7.83hz. This is the natural pulse of our planet earth that also corresponds to low alpha brain waves in the brain. This brainwave state is when you are most in the ‘zone’.
In our free breathwork meditation webinars every Sunday, you will get to experience this as you get into heart coherence using a combination of specially crafted music and rhythmical breathing.
