Why Alpha Omega?
Alpha – The selection of foods should be mainly the first foods that human’s consumed before mass agriculture that led to the over breeding and consequent corruption of crops.
The food sources are also high in essential nutrients that your body cannot make on its own and must be sourced from food, with importance on the consumption of alpha-linoleic fatty acids, known as Omega-3’s
These include grass fed free range meats, sustainably farmed fish, free range eggs, fruits, vegetables, and gluten free grains, such as hemp, maca. millet and buckwheat.
Included are supplements from natural food sources, that are rich in the essential primary building blocks of life, such as the full amino acid spectrum, primary vitamins, and the optimum range of omega essential fatty acids.
Omega – Each meal you have should be high in an optimum ratio of Omega essential fatty acids.
Nutritionists call Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids “essential” fats for good reason. These are some of the most important nutrients your human body needs for many functions, from building healthy cells to maintaining a healthy immune system, brain and nerve function. Our bodies can’t produce them. The only source is food.
Omega-3 fatty acids have show in studies to be most beneficial to your health, whereas too much Omega-6 consumption, which is found more in processed and refined foods, has been shown to cause health issues and even promote inflammation in the body. It is now widely accepted that you need both Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids consumed in the right ratio of 1:1 like our ancestors for optimum health, whereas in the modern industrialized world we consume Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids in a ratio closer to 1:20.
Omega – 3 Fatty Acids What are Omega-3 fatty acids?
Omega-3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids that are classed as polyunsaturated fatty acids.
There are three most nutritionally important omega-3 fatty acids: alpha- linolenic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)
Alpha-linolenic acid cannot be created by your body; it must be made from food. However, your body can create EPA and DHA from alpha-linolenic acid. (This is one of the reasons I called my formula “”Alpha Omega,” as alpha- linolenic acid is the most essential oil your body needs.)
What can eating a high Omega -3 diet do for you?
- – Help prevent the growth of cancer cells.
- – Reduce inflammation in your body.
- – Help prevent blood clots and thrombosis
- – Increase strength and fluidity of your cell membranes.
- – Lower bad lipids in your blood such as bad cholesterol and triglycerides
- – Help to inhibit the thickening of arteries and help arteries to relax and dilate.
- – Stimulate the secretion of leptin helping your body to respond to insulin that helps regulate food intake body weight and metabolism.
- – Help reduce the degeneration and aid the growth and function of healthy nerve and brain cells.
- – Help the absorption of fat soluble vitamins such as A, D, E, K
What is the function?
Every cell in the body is surrounded by a cell membrane formed mainly from fatty acids. The cell membrane serves highly important functions; such as allowing the proper amounts of essential nutrients to enter the cell and making sure waste products are quickly removed by the cell. Epigenetics experts such as Dr Bruce Lipton have shown in studies that the cell membrane is the true brain or intelligent center of the cell.
For your cell membrane to have optimum function it must maintain its integrity and fluidity. If this goes then your cells lose their ability to hold water and vital nutrients. Your cells ability to communicate with other cells becomes greatly diminished too. Scientists have shown how the loss of cell-to-cell communication could actually be a precursor for cancer.
Majority of your cell membrane is made up of fat and because of this the integrity and fluidity of your cell membrane is down to the type of fat you eat. Omega 3 fats produce cell membranes with a high level of fluidity, but if you are deficient in them and are consuming more poor quality fats found in processed foods and refined cooking oils, you develop cell membranes that are harder and less fluid.
Many in-vitro studies have shown how the incorporation of Omega-3 fatty acids into cell membranes can prevent and reduce cancer, and even kill cancer cells.
They have also show how the function of a cell can be optimized as a result too, whereas poor quality fats lead to the production of weak, poor functioning and even cancerous cells.
Omega-3’s are essential for the production of prostaglandins that are powerful hormone like substances. Prostaglandins regulate highly important functions such as inflammatory, allergic responses, nerve function, blood pressure and blood clotting, kidney function, digestion and even the production of other hormones.
Omega-3 fatty acids produce different kinds of prostaglandins from Omega-6 fatty acids, with opposing physiological effects. Although all types of prostaglandins are considered beneficial, an inbalance in them due to eating more than one type of Omega fatty acid, such as a high consumption of Omega-6 in processed and refined foods can lead to health problems. This is why it is important to have the right ratio of Omega essential fatty acids.
Hemp
Hemp has been cultivated for thousands of years and it has a mind-boggling number of uses. Because of its high nutritional value, incredibly strong fibres and ease of cultivation, it has the potential to solve the planet’s poverty, food and fuel problems! It can be used to make paper, rope, fabrics and even very clean fuel for engines.
But because hemp is part of the cannabis (marijuana) species of plants, it is highly regulated – even though it contains very, very low levels of the psychoactive chemical (THC) and you could never get “high” from it.
Hemp is a perfect food, very easy to digest, with an ideal ratio (3:1) of essential oils that is rarely found in nature. It contains a full amino acid profile and high protein content. It is also packed with a wide spectrum of minerals and vitamins.
Many body builders have switched to hemp products to develop their bodies, as it is far healthier and more effective at muscle and tissue growth and repair than other protein sources.
Hemp oil is also a natural anti-inflammatory agent, and its medicinal uses have been appreciated in many cultures for thousands of years. In Victorian times, hemp and cannabis were so highly valued that you could even pay your taxes with it!
Probiotics, Yogurt and the Longevity Wonder: Kefir
Yogurt contains millions of beneficial bacteria. I recommend eating a Greek- style, probiotic yogurt with some fruit and even some oats as a healthy breakfast or snack.
Like yogurt, kefir is a probiotic food, containing lactic acid bacteria (LAB). It is famous for its longevity properties, as some of the oldest living people in the world, from Bulgaria and the northern Caucasus, use it as a staple in their diet.
Nobel Peace Prize winning scientist Dr. Metchnikoff had a theory that the lactic acid bacteria in the fermented milk were responsible for these populations’ exceptional health and longevity. He believed that there was a connection between disease and the microorganisms in the digestive tract, and believed that bacteria in the fermented milk products consumed by these populations competed with the harmful microorganisms in their digestive tract. His studies regarding the contribution of LAB to the functions of the digestive and immune systems may have laid the foundations for the field of probiotics.
Kefir contains, in addition to beneficial bacteria and yeast, contains many vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes – particularly calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, B2 and B12, and vitamins K, A and D.
Tryptophan, one of the essential amino acids abundant in kefir, is well known for its relaxing effect on the nervous system. Because kefir also has an abundance of calcium and magnesium, important for a healthy nervous system, kefir can have a particularly calming effect on the nerves.
Kefir grains are white lumps that resemble something out of horror movie rather than something you should eat. When you add them to milk or fruit juice, they cause the liquid to ferment, producing a large quantity of beneficial bacteria.
You can buy kefir grains and make your own beverage with it, or you can purchase ready-made versions of the drink. But be a wise consumer, as different brands may vary in their concentration of the beneficial bacteria.
Coconut Butter/Oil
Research shows coconut oil contains healthy, healing, medium-chain triglycerides (MCT’s). This saturated fat is considered a rare and important building block of every cell in the human body, capable of reducing heart disease.
This health-giving food boosts your immune system, kills bacteria and viruses, and protects against cancer and other degenerative diseases. It also slows down ageing and helps in keeping your skin clear and radiant.
Long-chain fatty acids, found in meat, go straight into fat storage. This is the reason why heavy meats that contain a lot of fat can make you put on weight. However, the medium-chain fats in coconut oil are burned for energy, which is why you feel great after eating it.
Coconut oil, like human breast milk and colostrum, is rich in lauric acid, which boosts immunity and destroys harmful bacteria and viruses. In fact, coconut oil is one of the closest foods on the planet to breast milk.
I now cook all my foods with coconut butter instead of butter or vegetable oils.
Maca
Maca is sourced from a root which is dried and turned into powder.
Maca is abundant in amino acids, phytonutrients, essential fatty acids, vitamins (B1, B2, C & E) & minerals (calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, sulphur, sodium & iron). Maca has the ability to increase energy &stamina, oxygenate the blood, support neurotransmitter production & increase libido.
Maca has been used medicinally for centuries in South America and is known as an adaptogen that is a biological substance that helps the body adapt to changes & stress.
Hemp Seed Oil
Hemp oil is made from ground down hemp seeds. The oil contains the most optimum omega 3 – 6 ratio found in nature of 3:1. Essential oils really are essential enough for vital cell growth, cell function and a strong immune system. Hemp seed oil usually comes in a little bottle and is very similar to olive oil in the way it looks, but it tastes much better in my opinion.
Colostrum

I am diabetic and I would add protein powder or cottage cheese , full fat yogurt or whey
Thanks for this recipe, Niraj. I had looked into the colostrum when you had sent an email on it a few months ago. I had left a comment asking how long 1 container of the colostrum brand that you recommend will last, but I received no reply. I couldn’t find that information on the website either. Being on a tight budget, it would be nice to have that information before ordering and finding out that it’s too cost-prohibitive to use daily.
